Hoosier Beer Geek honors 10-Speed as Best Beer of 2013

Bloomington Brewing Co. wrapped up a big year with a big honor: Hoosier Beer Geek named 10-Speed Hoppy Wheat the Best Beer of 2013.

Bloomington Brewing 10-Speed Hoppy Wheat

10-Speed Hoppy Wheat is the perfect brew for summer, for hop lovers, and even for those who don’t think they like hoppy beers.

The beer aficionados who comprise Hoosier Beer Geek take careful note of the best beers they drink every year and concluded that 10-Speed Hoppy Wheat was the best of the bunch in 2013 compared to delicious beers brewed by terrific breweries from around the world. We’re extremely proud of the recognition and of 10-Speed, which debuted last May during Bloomington Bikes Month.

If you haven’t had the chance to try 10-Speed Hoppy Wheat, head over to Hoosier Beer Geek’s blog post to read about what you’re missing. Hoppy enough for hopheads yet approachable even if you don’t think you like hoppy beer, Hoosier Beer Geek sums up 10-Speed by comparing it to one of the most beloved Indiana craft beers (one which we’re huge fans of): Three Floyds Gumballhead now has a rival for the best well-hopped wheat beer in the state.”

Stay tuned for 10-Speed’s return this spring; sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to be the first to find out when 10-Speed cruises back into the Brewpub at Lennie’s and fine establishments around the state.

More 2013 Highlights

As one of the original craft breweries in Indiana, we’ve seen and supported tremendous growth in the industry, and this year we’ve been pleased with evolution at our own Hoosier craft brewery.

Rooftop Gold

This summer, Rooftop IPA received the gold medal for India pale ales at the 2013 Indiana State Fair Brewers Cup. You can find this house IPA, brewed for hop lovers, at bars and restaurants around Indiana.

BBC Available Across Indiana

As of this month, you can now find Bloomington Brewing Co. ales at establishments across Indiana, not just in Bloomington and Indianapolis. If your favorite eatery or watering hole doesn’t yet have BBC on draft, just ask for it.

BBC in Bottles

Last week we purchased our first bottling line, and we anticipate distributing our bottled beers for the first time in early 2014. We officially debuted our first bottled beer last year; B Seven Bourbon Style Belgian Brown was a limited-edition trial run that helped us decide to bottle our ales.

What to Look for in 2014

10-Speed will return this spring, Bloomington Brewing Co. beer will be available across Indiana and in bottles, and specialty beers like Krampus and limited versions like this year’s limited 10-Speed Hoppy Wheat (credit yost) in cask with grilled pineapple will be available at Indiana beer fests and other events.

Cheers and Happy New Year from the Bloomington Brew crew!

    Tristan,

I really enjoyed this…well written, compiled and presented…makes me want to drive to B-town for a grower fill of something…anything…BBC.

    Big Fun,

    Patrick

p.s. We have Ruby on tap right now, but that doesn’t count…can’t take home a grower ya know.
